Section 1

Legal Executive / Legal Officer

Full-time and on-roll. You handle daily drafting, documentation, regulatory replies and court coordination.

Drafting and documentation

  • Applications, replies, representations, legal notices and reply to notices.
  • Affidavits, undertakings, vakalatnamas, indemnity bonds and declarations.
  • Complaints, written statements, rejoinders and counter-affidavits, under supervision.
  • MoUs, service agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs and centre agreements.
  • Maintain a standard draft library and templates for repeat matters.

Regulatory and government compliance

  • Correspond with and visit UGC, UGC-DEB, AICTE, NCTE, BCI, State Higher Education Departments and the Ministry of Education.
  • Draft replies to show-cause notices, clarification letters, inspection queries and advisories.
  • File and track RTI applications and first appeals under the RTI Act, 2005.
  • Maintain a compliance calendar of all statutory deadlines and reply dates.

Court coordination

  • Coordinate with empanelled counsel for filing, e-filing, listing and case status.
  • Prepare case briefs, paper books, index of documents and chronology sheets.
  • Attend hearings for assistance and instructions at Delhi, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Sikkim.
  • Maintain a live Case Tracker Register — case number, court, next date, stage, counsel, status.

Student grievance and consumer matters

  • Reply to student complaints, legal notices and matters before District, State Commissions and NCDRC.
  • Collect facts, records and evidence with the Admissions and Support teams.

Records and reporting

  • Maintain physical and digital case files with version control.
  • Submit a weekly Legal MIS Report — new matters, drafts completed, replies filed, hearing dates, pending approvals.

Required knowledge

  • CPC 1908, CrPC 1973 / BNSS 2023, IPC 1860 / BNS 2023, Evidence Act / BSA 2023, Contract Act 1872, Consumer Protection Act 2019, Limitation Act 1963.
  • UGC Act 1956, UGC (ODL & Online Programmes) Regulations 2020, AICTE Act 1987 and university statutes.
  • Court filing procedure, e-filing portals, e-Courts, CIS and cause list tracking.
  • MS Word, Excel, PDF tools, Google Workspace, SCC Online / Manupatra / Indian Kanoon.
  • Strong English drafting; Hindi drafting is an added advantage.

Legal Advisor / Partner / Corporate Lawyer

Part-time, monthly retainer or per-matter engagement. You are the approving and guiding authority for the Legal Cell.

Review and approval

  • Read, correct, approve and sign off every draft prepared by the Legal Executive.
  • Confirm that each draft cites the correct sections, rules and regulations.
  • Set the drafting standard and approve all template formats.

Advisory and opinion

  • Written opinions on regulatory questions, university tie-ups, admission policy and advertising claims.
  • Risk assessment before any commercial or academic decision.
  • Guidance on student communication, marketing content and refund policy.

Regulatory representation

  • Working knowledge of UGC, UGC-DEB, AICTE, NCTE, DEC, State Higher Education Councils, MoE and university approval mechanisms.
  • Handle regulatory correspondence, personal hearings and representations.
  • Advise on university recognition, approval verification and permissible course offerings.

Litigation and appearance

  • High Court of Delhi — writ petitions, civil writ, contempt and appeals.
  • High Court of Judicature at Allahabad — Gautam Buddh Nagar matters.
  • High Court of Sikkim, Gangtok — as per requirement.
  • District Courts — Surajpur (GBN), Patiala House, Saket, Tis Hazari, Rohini, Karkardooma, Dwarka.
  • Consumer Commissions — District, State and NCDRC.
  • Draft and settle writs under Articles 226 and 227, SLPs, replies, counter-affidavits and rejoinders.

Team guidance

  • Mentor and train the Legal Executive on drafting quality and court procedure.
  • Conduct a weekly or fortnightly review of all pending matters.
